Al Franken Debt Ceiling Speech: What’s At Stake For Our Nation (VIDEO)

On July seven, Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) took to the Senate flooring to remind his colleagues and the public what is at stake in the financial debt ceiling combat, and excoriate Republicans for placing political gain more than the good of the nation. “If the time among elections just will become about jockeying for the subsequent election, then what in the world is the point of obtaining elected in the very first place?” Franken requested. “I imagined we were right here to operate together constructively in the interest of the American individuals.” Talks among Democrats and Republicans stalled above the weekend, with Sen.
