It’s not often that a new artist comes along and scores comparisons to two of the world’s biggest pop stars. I’m talking about British singer Rita Ora, one of Roc Nation’s newest signees, who’s already garnered critical acclaim likening her to both Rihanna and Beyonce. Rita stopped by MTV recently and we had the chance to shoot the breeze with her. We also had to the chance to marvel at her seriously flawless skin up close, and we booked an emergency facial immediately after our chat.

The “How We Do (Party)” singer was super candid (and the nicest of the nice) during our chat, where she opened up about her dream collaborator (Gwen Stefani), her favorite British slang, and learning to sing. She reveals that she started singing when she was just around six years old, but it wasn’t until her early teens when she really learned to sing — to a Celine Dion song. Then, THEN, homegirl straight up busts out into “Because You Loved Me,” and even though she forgets the words (it’s pretty adorable, actually), HOLY S***. I was in that room, y’all! I sat there all like:

Damn. Rita also shares her input on a very heated debate: The Wanted versus One Direction! “I would have to say both!” Media Training 101, ladies and gents. Finally, Ms. Ora lets us in on a few key pieces of advice from her boss, head HOV, Jay-Z: “Patience… Know yourself, keep your circle tight. Keep your friends and your work circle tight.” Take notes, people — that’s probably the closest you’ll ever get to an Oprah’s Life Class with HOV.

Dev’s parenting advice for Snooki: Hold on tight, drink lots of coffee.

Dev, the silky, sexy, hypnotically commanding voice behind Far East Movement’s female hook on “Like a G6,” and a soloist with her The Night The Sun Came Up debut album about to drop, is the co-host of the 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards, with DJ Pauly D backing her up on the 1s and 2s. And now that she’s played MC alongside Pauly D, she’s giving another “Jersey Shore” cast member an assist: Snooki.

Dev had a baby this past December, and she still remains undeniably adorable (Dev, I mean, though there’s no way earthly way her baby’s not the cutest too). Plus, she’s a very busy working mom who’s got her s*** 100 percent together — her debut album’s dropping next week, she’s heading out on tour, and not only is she a Woodies co-host, but she performed a sick set at the Woodies Award Festival. So she seems like the perfect candidate to give pregnancy and parenting advice to Snooki, who’s newly knocked-up (YOU HADN’T HEARD?!?) and engaged. (Sorry, bros. Snook’s off the market.)

“Hold on tight! Try to sleep as much as possible. Drink a lot of coffee,” Dev advised Snooki.

“Pregnancy is really awesome. I feel way more confident now that I’ve had a child than before. Which is weird because I didn’t think it was gonna do that. I thought I was gonna have a baby and I wasn’t gonna wanna be sexy,” Dev said.

Sorry, Dev, but your twitter handle is @DevIsHot for a reason.

See, Snooki? You can have a baby and be sexy. Just keep in mind, pregnancy is an excellent time to stop tanning. And motherhood is an excellent time to stop peeing on the dance floor.

I’m making a consorted effort to finally lose some weight, and make necessary lifestyle changes to be healthier. I’m a 27 year old Male, 5’11″ tall and 264 pounds.

I’ve always had a “big” frame, so I carry the weight somewhat well, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’ve got a big belly, and a big appetite.

So here’s my question:

I’ve been using an elliptical trainer 4-5 days a week, 1/2 hour each session – I generally go 65-70 RPM and go anywhere from 2.25 miles to 2.75 miles.

I started taking Hydroxycut Advanced (Caffeine Free), A multi-vitamin, and daily 2.5mg of B-12.

My diet has been good. A lot of fruit, vegetables, wheats, grains, egg whites, tuna, seafood, chicken – Trying to do all the good stuff and let myself “cheat” maybe once a week to keep things on an even keel.

Eating 3-4-5 times daily and drinking ZERO sugar (spelnda in my one cup of coffee, otherwise it’s tea with no sugar, or water only).

For those out there that are either professionals, well versed, or have simply lost weight of their own: Am I on a good “plan” based on what I’ve outlined?

Does the potential exist for me to actually lose some weight here if I keep it up?

Thus far it’s 6 lbs in 2 weeks.

Exercise wise – Anything I should do differently? Add? Subtract?

Same with foods – Good suggestions, tips?

I really want to lose 50 lbs, and view food differently. I want to be healthier for my Kids and my Wife.

Hi there The Peav. This is J. Duncan McNeill. Everything you mention sounds just great and I wouldn’t recommend any changes. However, you appear to be doing this alone and that in itself will make it harder to stick with it. Also, if you can get your subconscious mind involved then it will all become easy. Cassie stopped by MTV and somehow no one had a heart attack.

Cassie stopped by MTV, and somehow I was allowed into a private room with her, and my eyeballs are somehow still situated in my head and I didn’t melt into a puddle of unworthiness. I don’t know how either, guys, but let’s not ask questions. So, yeah, Cassie came by MTV last week to spill some secrets on her upcoming album (!!!), her favorite Whitney Houston moments, and what working with Diddy (her boss at Bad Boy) is like. And yay, I recorded the whole thing! (While she was here, Cassie also made some time to make everyone around her feel really ugly because she might literally be the prettiest person in the world. Not her fault!)

Because you’re a Cassie fan yourself, surely you’re attuned to the fact that the world’s been patiently waiting for official new Cassie material for a really long time. It’s been six years since “Me & U” topped charts pretty much everywhere charts exist, but the release of Cassie’s latest single “King Of Hearts” marks her much-anticipated comeback. Part jungle beats, part chilly R&B, and 100 percent danceable, fans are confident that Cassie is back for real this time, and she might be even better than before. (Though how that’s possible I can’t even begin to get my head around.)

BUZZWORTHY: Before we get to your album, let’s talk about Whitney Houston and her tragic passing. What are some of your favorite Whitney Houston memories or moments? Had you ever met her?

CASSIE: I’ve never met her, but that would have been amazing. “I Will Always Love You” has been stuck in my head for the past four days, and “Waiting to Exhale” is one of my favorite movies. And that soundtrack… She was such an amazing, legendary human being, and her voice just brought so much to the music industry and inspired so many people. And when it happened on CNN and they were playing all of her videos and performances and everything, I was just like, “Wow, this career is just like… out of this world.”

BUZZWORTHY: What can fans expect to hear on your new album?

CASSIE: My new album is just a little bit of stuff for everybody. On “King Of Hearts” I worked with a producer named J2, and it’s got that jungle/dance/pop vibe. And then on what might be my second single I worked with Jean Baptiste [Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna] on a song called “Money On Love” and it’s a little bit funkier. And then I also have my R&B ballads, and I have a ska record called “Mr. Valentine.” It’s kind of a little bit of everything, and that’s who I am. I change my clothes five times a day!

BUZZWORTHY: What do you think is the biggest lesson you’ve learned working with Diddy?

CASSIE: To be patient. You know, your time comes when you’re ready and the world is ready to see. He’s always like, “When you’re ready, they’ll be ready.” So, I’m finally ready.

BUZZWORTHY: Who are some of the artists you most want to collaborate with?

CASSIE: I would love to collaborate with SBTRKT! And I don’t know who the artists are on it, but I’ve been listening to the “Drive” soundtrack. It’s amazing! I loved the movie! The soundtrack is– Anybody on there! I’ve been obsessed with it. Listening to it nonstop.

BUZZWORTHY: Finally, this question is more for me but you’re gorgeous — please tell me you eat junk food. And if you do, what’s your favorite?

CASSIE: [Laughs] I eat McDonald’s at least once a week.

BUZZWORTHY: No, you don’t.

CASSIE: Yes, I do. McDonald’s and Burger King! I get um… “What she order? Fish filet.” [Laughs] Or the chicken sandwich with cheese at Burger King. No, I eat tons of junk food. I try to eat healthy too, though. ‘Cause sometimes when we’re running around we don’t get any time to go to the gym or anything like that so I try to eat salads and drink lots of water.

Known as a diva by many, the strong willed Lea Michele says she doesn’t take fashion advice. In fact, the actress who plays the straight laced and pushy Rachel Berry on the Fox show, went against the series creator’s (Ryan Murphy) advice, wearing black to the Golden Globe Awards.

Telling In Style the story, Michele says “Ryan Murphy had told me, ‘Don’t wear black. You should never wear black. So my stylist pulled floral, beautiful colours. As I’m walking to the bathroom to try them on, I see the Oscar [de la Renta] dress hanging up in her closet. I said ‘I’m wearing that.’ And I called Ryan, and said ‘Ryan, I’m wearing black!’ ”

According to Contact Music, there was no hard feelings between Murphy and his beloved cast member. “When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes- but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her”, Ryan shared.

Not only daring with color, Lea also spent the other night at the American Horror Story premiere party this past Monday, where she showed off her latest look, a mini dress in dark blue, with high heels. Lea showed up to support Ryan Murphy in his latest small screen venture that looks to be far from the spunk and upbeat Glee.
